Digital Desk: In Guwahati's Bhetapara area, a street fight followed a minor accident between a scooter and a Magic van. Things became violent after Rahul Ali, a rickshaw puller from Hatigaon, tried to intervene and break up the fight. The scooter rider, later identified as Dip Gogoi, who was reportedly in an intoxicated state, viciously attacked Rahul using a metal rod from his own vehicle. Rahul was badly injured. He was rushed to a private hospital in a semi-conscious state.
A police team from Basistha police station reached the scene quickly and arrested Dip Gogoi for causing public chaos. Dip still misbehaved when he got to the police station, cursing and apparently attacking some of the officers physically.
As per reports, eyewitnesses claimed that Dip had been drinking a lot before the accident. Dip works at a private bank and is a resident of Charaideo. . He reportedly has a history of violent conduct and has been involved in multiple similar incidents, often becoming a guest of the local police lock-up.
Witnesses and police confirm that Dip’s aggression has brought him a lot of negative attention. This latest incident adds yet another chapter to his record of public disorder fueled by alcohol and arrogance
