What is the Chandigarh video scandal all about?

As a result of allegations that a female student had made unpleasant videos of various female dormitory residents, protests broke out at Chandigarh University on Sunday.

The culprit was detained by the Punjab Police on Sunday. After hostel residents claimed their films became viral, action was taken.

According to a statement from the university, there was only one "leaked" film, which was a personal video the accused sent to her partner in Shimla.

Chandigarh University's pro-chancellor, RS Bawa, stated in a statement: "The media has been spreading the untrue and unfounded rumour that 60 students have had their offensive MMS discovered. Except for a private film that a girl shared with her boyfriend, no videos of students have been discovered during the university's early examination to be undesirable."
