Digital Desk: In a significant development in connection with the Independence Day Bomb planting in Assam, the Jorhat Police apprehended a man on September 9 for allegedly planting bombs in Guwahati on Independence Day. The man was identified as Manab Kalita, nabbed from Hojai district. 

According to reports, the man was accused of planting bombs in the direction of the banned insurgent outfit United Liberation Front of Assam-Asom Independent (ULFA-I).

According to a report, Kalita confessed to planting bombs in Guwahati. Further investigation is ongoing.
