Digital Desk: A shocking murder has taken place in Ambari, Baksa, where a son brutally killed his elderly father by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon.
The victim, Labanya Ramchiary, was attacked by his son, Poniram Ramchiary, while he was asleep.
Upon receiving the report, Mushalpur police arrived at the scene and sent the body for a post-mortem examination at the Mushalpur Civil Hospital.
Authorities have arrested Poniram and are continuing their interrogation to uncover further details surrounding the crime.
The tragic incident reportedly stemmed from prolonged family discord. For an extended period, Poniram had been mentally harassing his ailing father, often under the influence of alcohol.
Taking advantage of the absence of other family members on July 20, he committed the heinous act while his father was asleep.
Outraged by the incident, local residents have called for strict and appropriate punishment for the son.
