Mumbai: From Bollywood to Tollywood, popular social media influencers, instagrammers, all have hopped into the bandwagon to make reels, videos with a Sri Lankan song – ‘Manike Mage Hithe’, that is going viral since its release in May 2021. Among the latest to get onto the loop of creating its own version of this viral Sinhala song, is none other than internet’s favourite singing sister duo, Antara and Ankita Nandy, who recently shared an Acapella version of the song while strumming with their usual ukuleles.

The Nandy sisters tried to nail their Sinhalese pronunciations, in a nod to the cultural connect with Tamil, they paired the song with ‘Rowdy Baby’ – popular song from Maari 2 sung by Dhanush and Dhee.

Antara and Ankita Nandy merged the Sinhala and Tamil song effortlessly and presented a beautiful amalgamation of both groovy earworms that has gone viral.

It may be noted here that Dheekshitha Venkadeshan, whose stage name is Dhee, is also a Sri Lankan singer.

The current viral Sinhala song ‘Manike Mage Hithe’, was released in May 2021 and is sung by Sri Lankan singer-rappers Yohani and Satheeshan, who became overnight sensations not only in Sri Lanka but also in India.

Both Antara and Ankita are playing the ukulele to a fault as they sing their way into people's hearts. Netizens are loving the mash-up version so much, that netizens have lauded the Nandy sisters for the beautiful rendition, that felt somewhat even better than the original.
