Digital Desk: An intermittent firing ensued between security forces and a group of insurgents in the violence-hit areas of Sugnu and Serou in Manipur on June 6.

Reportedly, security forces have effectively reacted to the firing, with a comprehensive area control operation being carried out by the Assam Rifles, Border Security Force, and Manipur Police.

During the intermittent firing, one BSF jawan was reportedly killed, while two Assam Rifles personnel sustained gunshot wounds in the general region of Serou.

The injured Assam Rifles troops have been sent to Mantripukhri by air. Search and rescue operations are underway in the tense area.
