Digital Desk: Fresh firing incidents were reported in the Imphal East and Kangpokpi districts of violence-hit Manipur on Friday.
The Indian Army's Spear Corps reports that this afternoon, a group of armed miscreants snuck from the Yaingangpokpi area towards the hillside. Miscreants reportedly fired automatic weapons toward the villages of Urangpat and Gwaltabi.
To avoid collateral damage, the security personnel responded to the firing in a planned manner.

Earlier, on Thursday, Assam Rifles personnel exchanged gunfire with unidentified men at North Boljang in Manipur’s Imphal West district. The exchange of fire took place amid new outbreaks of unrest in the war-torn state, where armed troops have been dispatched to bring the situation under control and crack down on rioters.
Moreover, other violent incidents were reported on Wednesday, including an explosion in a parked car in Kwakta in the Bishnupur district. The blast occurred within minutes of the driver departing the vehicle at about 7.15 p.m., according to eyewitnesses. Three people were injured in the event and were taken to the Bishnupur hospital.
