Swati Maliwal met with Chief Minister N Biren Singh right away as her flight landed.

Digital Desk: Swati Maliwal, the chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), arrived in Imphal, Manipur, on Sunday, despite initially saying that the Manipur government had refused to grant her permission for her visit to the northeastern state, which is filled with conflict.

Swati Maliwal met with Chief Minister N Biren Singh right away as her flight landed. She stated that she wished to speak with the victims of the sexual assault depicted in the widely shared film to determine whether they had received any counselling, legal assistance, or financial recompense.

Additionally, the DCW chief stated that she would make an effort to meet with Governor Anusuiya Uikey. "I will immediately go to the CM's Office, I want to meet chief minister N Biren Singh. I want to meet the survivors of sexual abuse and find out if they have access to counselling, legal assistance, or financial restitution. I beg the Manipur Government to acknowledge that I have come here to assist the state's citizens and to permit me to do so," she was cited by ANI as adding.

Maliwal stated that she did not travel to the state in the northeast to engage in politics, and she also urged both Smriti Irani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Manipur.

The DCW chief claimed earlier in the day that the state administration had rejected her request to travel to Manipur because of the "law and order situation," which was in opposition to their earlier approval to let her enter the state.

According to her statement to PTI, "I recently received a letter from the Manipur administration asking that I postpone my visit in light of the current state of peace and order. Only the law and order situation and the survivors of sexual assault are making me want to go there. The chief minister of Manipur asserted that there are other instances like this. I wish to go to and offer assistance."
