The helpline centre will be operating 24x7 and can be reached through any of these numbers: 9436034077 (Rehanuddin Choudhury, Joint Secretary of Home Department), 7005257760 (Peter Salam, Joint Secretary of Home Department), 8794475406 (Dr. Th. The action was taken in response to the recent breakdown in law and order in Manipur, which included extensive violence and confrontations in the state's hill regions. The helpline center's goal is to help anyone affected by the situation get access to essential services.

The helpline centre was set up as part of the Manipur Government's attempts to reestablish normalcy and peace in the state. To get the situation under control, the state administration has also deployed more paramilitary workforce. The chief minister of Manipur N Biren Singh has urged all parts of the state's population to maintain harmony and unity among communities.
