A significant recruitment fraud involving the use of forged documents to secure Central Government jobs has been unearthed in Assam, sparking widespread concern over the deprivation of genuine employment opportunities for the state's youth. Investigations have revealed a sophisticated network where individuals, reportedly from outside Assam, allegedly obtained an array of fake documents including Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs), Caste Certificates, and Income Certificates.
These fraudulently acquired documents were then purportedly utilized to claim coveted positions under Assam's designated quota in various central government departments and paramilitary forces. The scope of the scam is considerable, with reports indicating that organizations such as the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Assam Rifles, and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have been impacted, as candidates secured employment through these illicit means.
The nexus of these fraudulent activities appears to be particularly concentrated around Naosholia village in Jorhat district, which has emerged as a focal point in the ongoing probe. A significant number of these fabricated documents were allegedly procured from or through this area, highlighting a localized hub for the broader inter-state racket. The widespread nature of the scam suggests a concerted and organized effort to bypass legitimate recruitment processes and exploit regional quotas meant to benefit the local population.
The illicit scheme initially came to light following thorough inquiries initiated by the Additional Deputy Commissioner. These preliminary investigations brought the alarming extent of the forgery and its detrimental impact on legitimate job aspirants from Assam into sharp focus. Authorities are now expected to intensify their probe to dismantle the entire network responsible for this fraud and ensure that justice is served for the deserving youth of Assam, who have been unfairly sidelined.
