Digital Desk: A devastating fire broke out in the Missionpara area of Digboi last night around 10 PM, which completely burnt down several rented apartments of Subhal Dutta. The blaze, suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit, quickly spread and destroyed various household items in a matter of minutes.
This area is densely populated because it is at high risk.
However, thanks to the swift response of the Digboi IOC fire
brigade and the timely assistance of local residents, the fire was brought
under control after nearly an hour of effort.
While several houses were badly damaged, fortunately, many others in the vicinity were saved from the flames. No casualties have been reported, but the financial loss is believed to be significant due to the destruction of personal belongings and property
As a result of the incident, many are worried about fire safety measures in residential areas with aging electrical infrastructure.
