KJCLF secretary Rev Edwin H Kharkongor said the special prayer meeting was held at the KJP English Service Church, Police Bazar, Shillong.

Digital Desk: The Khasi Jaintia Church Leaders Forum (KJCLF) organized a special prayer meeting “praying together for good” on Friday, to highlight the gravity of the issue related to the government’s move to set up casinos in the state.

KJCLF secretary Rev Edwin H Kharkongor said the special prayer meeting was held at the KJP English Service Church, Police Bazar, Shillong.

He said the KJCLF noted the lukewarm attitude of the Government authorities to the closure of the Casino gambling industry and the repeal of the Meghalaya Regulation of Gaming Act 2021.

While anticipating the evils and the social costs resulting from these nefarious activities, Rev Kharkongor said the Forum calls on leaders of different churches, organizations, and institutions to support this movement for the closure of the casino gambling industry in the State.
