GUWAHATI: The mega vaccination drive for protection against COVID-19 is underway across Assam today.

The state government has set a target to vaccinate eight lakh people during the mega vaccination drive.

While state chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited a vaccination camp in Guwahati, all other guardian ministers accompanied by senior officials also visited other vaccination camps to motivate the people to get inoculated.

COVID-19 vaccination is going on throughout the state today in pre-designated locations.

A total of 9.75 lakh people were inoculated in the first mega vaccination drive held in the state from June 21 to June 23.

Assam has administered over two crore COVID-19 vaccines so far.
