Shillong, August 3, 2026: The All Meghalaya Pharmacists Association (AMPA) has expressed profound dissatisfaction following their inability to secure an audience with Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, despite persistent efforts over the past three months. Members of the association visited the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) at the Secretariat campus on Monday with the aim of discussing their various pending demands, only to be turned away without a meeting.
Leaders of AMPA, speaking to reporters outside the Secretariat, highlighted their frustration, stating that they had been seeking an an appointment with the Chief Minister for a quarter of a year. Their repeated requests for a meeting to address crucial issues affecting pharmacists in the state have, however, remained unfulfilled.
The association's representatives recounted their latest attempt on Monday, where they once again arrived at the CMO hoping for a breakthrough. Their objective was to directly convey their concerns and proposed solutions to the state's highest office. However, they were ultimately unable to meet Chief Minister Sangma, leading to their public expression of discontent.
This ongoing situation underscores a growing concern among the state's pharmacist community regarding the communication channels with the government and the perceived delay in addressing their long-standing issues. The association remains hopeful for a future engagement that can facilitate a constructive dialogue on their critical demands.
