Shillong: The intense disorder situation in Meghalaya has imposed a total curfew and internet shutdown from Sunday. In regard, the Meghalaya government has announced helpline numbers for the stranded people in the hill state.

Due to the sudden curfew in the state, several people from other states were stranded in the hill state. Assam Chief Minister Himanata Biswa Sarma has asked the Meghalaya government to ensure the safety of the Assamese people in the region.

Meghalaya Police has asked the stranded citizens to reach out to the numbers for whatever support they require. They have released ten helpline numbers for the people.

Meghalaya Police twitted, "Helpline Numbers for citizens stranded in Shillong. Kindly reach out to these numbers for any support,"

As the destruction and disorder of law continue in the state, the Meghalaya government extended the curfew till August 18.
