American socialite and reality TV show personality Kim Kardashian is known for her bold fashion choices, so it wasn’t a shock when she showed up to the 2021 Met Gala covering her entire body, including her face, in an all-black ensemble. She stole the spotlight at the Gala by going completely undercover.
Kim also took to her Instagram account to share photos of the bold ensemble by Balenciaga, captioning, “Balenciaga Met 2021." Kim's outfit became the talk of the town and was immediately titled one of her splashiest fashion moments of 2021.
Kim was accompanied by a mystery man in a masked ensemble, which left fans wondering if the person was her husband, Kanye West. However, as per reports, the man was not her husband, instead, the person standing by Kim's side was none other than designer Demna Gvasalia, who is the creative director of Balenciaga, and the co-founder of Vetements.
Last weekend, Kim was photographed in a head-to-toe leather ensemble by Balenciaga when she arrived in New York ahead of the Met Gala.
This year's Met Gala theme was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”. Usually, “The Met Gala” is scheduled on the first Monday of May, but last year’s show got canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But this year, Covid-guidelines were followed, guests were asked to provide proof of vaccination and wear masks at all times, except for when dining.
