Moreover, Ray-Ban Storie's smart spectacles, which debuted last year, will also be displayed in the stores.

Digital Desk: On Monday, Meta (previously Facebook) announced the opening of its first retail store in the United States, which will sell its AR-VR headgear Quest 2, Quest 2 accessories, and Portal smart video devices. Moreover, Ray-Ban Storie's smart spectacles, which debuted last year, will also be displayed in the stores.

On May 9, a 1,550-square-foot store will be open in Burlingame, California. "We've also launched a Shop tab to meta.com making it easy to shop all of our hardware products in one spot online.  You can gain hands-on experience with all of Meta's hardware items in the Meta Store," the company said.

"Once people have had a chance to use the technology, they will better understand it.  If we performed our job correctly, customers would leave and tell their friends. You have to go check out the Meta Store," stated Martin Gilliard, Meta Store's Head. As per the company, the Meta Store also has an engaging Quest 2 screen where customers can learn more about the game's hardware, accessories, and content.

The company stated that the idea is to prove to people what's possible with its goods while also providing a view into the future as the metaverse takes shape. "The Meta Store will assist people in making that link to how our products can be the future entrance to the metaverse," Gilliard continued.

Notably, after many small pop-up stores, Google also built its first retail store last year.
