Bengaluru: Karnataka’s water resources minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has found himself landing in a soup in connection with a sexual harassment allegation. The minister has reportedly tendered his resignation letter to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.

The development comes a day after a purported video clips showing Jarkiholi getting intimate with an unidentified woman, were widely aired by Kannada news channels. “The allegations against me are far from the truth, it has to be investigated at the earliest. Though I’m confident about my innocence, taking moral responsibility I’m resigning from my position as the cabinet minister,” added Minister Jarkiholi.

“I request you to accept it,” Jarkiholi said in the letter to the Chief Minister.

The allegation, just ahead of the Budget session of the state legislature starting from Thursday had come as a huge embarrassment to B S Yediyurappa-led BJP government.
