Digital Desk: Silchar, June 28: Jayanta Mallabaruah, Minister, PHE, SEED and Tourism Department reviewed meeting of flood condition in Silchar and other adjoining areas at Deputy Commissioner's office today.

He took stock of the entire flood situation from the senior district officials and also District Disaster Management Authorities. He instructed all the related departments to work in coordination to ensure proper supply and distribution of relief materials, supply of animal food, restoration of power supply, evacuation of flood victims if necessary and also ensure proper assessment of damaged properties. "This is an unprecedented crisis and this place has never seen such a devastating flood before.

 The officials are working really hard on ground but some errors need to be rectified to ensure an efficient and smooth dealing of the crisis" said the Minister. He also instructed the PHE officials to continue building temporary toilets and also fit emergency tubewells in areas facing water crisis due to power cuts. He asked the officials to manage the situation at micro level to ensure flood relief measures touch all human habitations. He also suggested that baby food should be made from locally available items and ensure it's quick distribution. He suggested the NDRF teams to transport relief items in boats to remote areas which have lost physical communication.

Honourable MP Rajdeep Roy, MLA Dipayan Chakravarty, MLA Kaushik Rai, MLA Mihir Kanti Shome, DC Keerti Jalli and other senior officials of the district administration were present in the review meeting.
