In the boundary committee meet, attained by the dignitaries of Mizoram have concluded on certain resolutions which they affirm to follow considering the present border tension brewing between Assam and Mizoram. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister of Mizoram, Tawnluia, the committee passed resolutions. Mizoram Boundary Committee makes it clear that "they won't budge an inch of land occupied by their forefathers"

The resolution said that the demarcation of Mizoram's Boundary to be decided based on the Inner Line Demarcation policy of 1875. The Committee will continue its stance that the Mizoram-Assam Boundary be desirably resolved on the basis of this document alone. Means of force and violence cannot solve the border issue, thus better to solve the issues through mutual verdicts and dialogues. The committee says that Assam started to open fire first, and is deeply saddened by the avoidable incident of July 26, where both sides lost their citizens' lives.

Memorandum for setting up of Boundary Commission for Settlement, Delimitation, and Demarcation of Boundary between Mizoram and Assam (2018), which was jointly signed by All Political Parties’ Presidents, All NGO Presidents, and JAC, will be revised and amended as required. A sub-Committee/Working Group will be formed to pursue the matter.

The committee appeals to its citizens to remain united upon the ongoing matter as the clash is intertwined with ethnic issues, also not to create any hardships for non-Mizo residents in the state because of the current border issue. The Boundary Committee intends to protect their land as it was occupied by their forefathers to its utmost ability, and also the committee asks people of Mizoram for their solidarity and support.
