As per the police reports, the model was a close relative of KLO commander Parthapratim Barman. 



Digital Desk: A female model and five other people from the state have been detained by the Assam police on suspicion of having ties with the banned militant group Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO).


Reportedly, the model, identified as Nabaneeta Barman Bothra, her husband Bikash Bothra and four other people were arrested by the Assam police from Kokrajhar district on Tuesday.


Their connection was revealed during the inquiry into the gunfire incident in Kokrajhar on June 4, in which unknown miscreants injured a businessman named Sunil Mandal.


Mandal was resting on his house's porch when two armed men on a motorcycle wearing helmets approached and opened fire on him. He was hit in the chest by a bullet and is currently receiving treatment. 


Mandal's family claimed that he received an extortion demand of Rs 2 lakhs from KLO a few days ago.  


On Sunday, police apprehended two KLO militants after the attack. Further, the police apprehended the model and others based on the statements of the arrested militants. 


As per the police reports, the model was a close relative of KLO commander Parthapratim Barman.
