Rashmi, who was born and raised with her illustrious father running a reputed spice house, gave up her management career to follow in her father's footsteps.

Digital Desk: Mrs. Rashmi Sahoo, the founder-director of Odisha's most trusted ready-to-eat food products brand FARRMB and FROZIT, shone at the recently held International Women's Entrepreneurial Challenge-2022 summit in Madrid, Spain. Every year, the IWEC Foundation honours a few women entrepreneurs from around the world who have not only excelled in their fields but have also given back to society. Mrs. Rashmi Sahoo received the prestigious Best Woman Entrepreneur Award 2022 this year for her outstanding leadership qualities. She is the first Odia woman entrepreneur to receive such a prestigious award.

Rashmi, who was born and raised with her illustrious father running a reputed spice house, gave up her management career to follow in her father's footsteps.

Rashmi had a dream to serve customers' taste buds after receiving food processing training in Italy and Switzerland. She then took the plunge, inspired by his father Sarat Kumar Sahoo, dubbed the "Spice Man" of Odisha, and launched Bisweswar Foods Pvt. Ltd (FarrmB) on her own in 2014.

While women in India are still considered less ambitious and are not expected to lead an initiative and turn it into a profitable business, Rashmi accepted the challenge and proved her worth. Rashmi's FarrmB and FROZIT now house hundreds of ready-to-eat nutritional cereals, cookies, and beverages. Rashmi embarked on a new adventure after conducting extensive market research to hygienically procure, process, and make available for consumers anytime and anywhere Odisha's traditional sweet dish recipes 'Podapitha' and Kheer (an elixir of milk sugar, rice, and aroma spice). Rashmi is credited with pioneering the concept of hygenic frozen foods in Odisha. In some ways, she sparked a revolution in Odisha's ready-to-eat food industry.

FarrmB is the first Orissan processed foods company led by a motherpreneur. Rashmi has taken risks, faced challenges, and become an iconic woman entrepreneur in the state through her tenacity, resolve, and determination. She has been awarded at numerous business forums of Odisha and India. IWEC 2022 award has spread her aura globally.
