As per reports, Sobi Rani Deka, a young woman from Kolaigoan had married Chinmoy Kataki, a young man from Bar Athiyabari village under Mangaldoi constituency four years ago.

As per reports, Sobi Rani Deka, a young woman from Kolaigoan had married Chinmoy Kataki, a young man from Bar Athiyabari village under Mangaldoi constituency four years ago.
While their family life was running smoothly with a three-year-old daughter, Sobi Rani developed an illicit love affair with Simanta Saharia, a young man from the same village.
After husband Chinmoy gradually came to know about this relationship, conflicts began in their family.
The conflict intensified over a pair of anklets that lover Simanta had given to Sobi Rani.
When the husband went to return the pair of anklets given by the lover, Sobi Rani, who was at home with her child, drank poison.
According to husband Chinmoy Kataki’s allegation, Simanta brought poison which the woman drank to commit suicide.
As per report, Simanta Saharia had brought poison for Sobi Rani to kill her husband Chinmoy Kataki.
But later, instead of giving poison to her husband, Sobi Rani herself drank it and embraced death.
While she was drinking poison, she made her three-year-old daughter sit beside her.
