Digital Desk: On January 22, Saturday evening, Kirti Kamal Bora, a former general secretary of Nagaon College, who was earlier a member of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), was injured during an anti-drug operation in Nagaon’s Kachalukhua locality when the police shot at him in “self-defense”. Bora, who has sustained injuries on his left thigh, left arm, and forehead, is currently undergoing treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday, January 23, announced a one-man inquiry commission into the incident, headed by the state's Additional Chief Secretary.
In its sensational report presented by the office of the Additional Chief Secretary, today states that Assam Police committed a mistake in Kirti kamal's encounter.
Moreover, a circular has been issued by the authority to suspend SI Pradeep Bania immediately.
Also, the other police officials associated with the encounter have been issued a transfer order
