Digital Desk:  Northeast India is getting its first Vande Bharat Express train, which will run between New Jalpaiguri in Siliguri and Guwahati in Assam.


Sanjay Chilwarwar, the Additional Divisional Railway Manager of Northeast Frontier, revealed the good news, emphasising the goal of reducing travel time and improving connectivity in the region.


The Vande Bharat Express train, with train numbers Up-22227 and Down-22228, will run six days a week and traverse 410 kilometres in only six hours. This new semi-high-speed train is projected to considerably reduce travel time between New Jalpaiguri and Guwahati.


The Rajdhani Express is now the quickest train on this route, taking around eight and a half hours to complete the journey. Travellers can expect a faster and more efficient means of transit with the debut of the Vande Bharat Express.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Odisha's first Vande Bharat train between Puri and Howrah through video conferencing on Thursday.


Following the official launch of Odisha's first Vande Bharat train on Thursday, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set an objective for Vande Bharat to reach practically all states by June of this year.
