Reportedly, a search operation for the two missing Indian pilgrims is underway.

Digital Desk: Two Indian youths who were part of a group of pilgrims were washed away by a landslide in Nepal's Kapilvastu district on Monday.

Police reports said that Nikhil Kaushal, 17, and Suraj Soni, 18, both from Uttar Pradesh's Balrampur district, were washed away while attempting to cross a small stream by foot in the Shivaraj Municipality-1 area of the district.

According to a police official, the landslide occurred when they evacuated their car, which also had roughly 16 other Indian pilgrims in the vehicle.

"Indian pilgrims were returning from the famous Hindu temple Swargadwari in Pyuthan district when the vehicle was trapped in the local stream," a police official said.
