According to the revised schedule, school operations will commence at 8 am. Lower primary schools will conclude at 12:30 pm, while middle English schools/upper primary schools will extend until 1 pm. 

Digital Desk: In response to escalating temperatures, authorities in Assam's Jorhat district have mandated a modification in school schedules for both private and government institutions. The directive, issued by Jorhat's district inspector of schools, Buli Gogoi Bhuyan, stipulates that morning assemblies must commence at 8 am. Effective from June 1, all schools are required to adhere to the adjusted timings, as outlined in an official notification.

According to the revised schedule, school operations will commence at 8 am. Lower primary schools will conclude at 12:30 pm, while middle English schools/upper primary schools will extend until 1 pm. High schools and higher secondary schools will remain operational until 1:30 pm, as specified in the directive.

“For the smooth functioning of Schools and for Public Interest and due to the rise of temperature and Scorching Heat the timing of the Schools (both Government and Private) in Jorhat district has been rescheduled w.e.f 1June 2024,” read the official order.

“This order has been issued as per the approval of District Commissioner, Jorhat,” it added.
