Digital Desk: Twitter boss Elon Musk has announced the latest moderation policy and plans to limit the visibility of nasty or hateful messages in a series of tweets from his personal Twitter account. "New Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach," he said.

This new policy comes after a mass exodus of employees, with hundreds of the company's employees resigning in response to his ultimatum to adhere to "hardcore" work. Within a week of Musk's acquisition, the company's workforce had already been reduced by half.

"Negative/hate tweets will be max deboosted & demonetized, so no ads or other revenue to Twitter," Musk informed on his Twitter account, adding that "you won’t find the tweet unless you specifically seek it out, which is no different from rest of Internet." "This applies just to the individual tweet, not the whole account," he clarified.

Musk also said that the accounts of US comic Kathy Griffin and academic Jordan Peterson, as well as conservative parody site Babylon Bee, had been reactivated by the company, although a decision on Former US President Donald Trump's account has still to be made.

Kathy Griffin's account was suspended earlier this month after she changed her Twitter username to that of Elon Musk in an attempt to mock the billionaire.

Mass Resignation Storm on Twitter

Musk demanded more "high intensity" work hours or accept a three-month severance package, which resulted in widespread resignations. He stated in his email that for Twitter to flourish, "we need to be "very rigorous."

"The best people are staying," Musk remarked, undisturbed by the resignations, even as the company closed its doors until Monday.

Meanwhile, in the midst of job losses, mass departures, and worries over whether Twitter will be able to continue operations regularly, Musk stated the platform's usage reached "another all-time high."
