New York: Amid a surge in the highly contagious delta variants throughout the United States the New York City announces to offer 100 dollars to get vaccinated against coronavirus.

The city mayor, Bill de Blasio, stated New York would pay 100 dollars to citizens who will get vaccinated at any city-run vaccination site, which will start on Friday.

de Blasio said, “You want a recovery? You need vaccination. Whatever it is, you want to enjoy life to the fullest? You need vaccination.”

The declaration comes a day after de Blasio ordered all the city workers to get themselves vaccinated against coronavirus within mid-September of have to face weekly testing.

As per the New York City Health Department, so far, over 9.9 million doses of covid-19 vaccine had been administered in New York City, while 66 per cent of adults have been fully vaccinated while 71 per cent have received one dose of the covid shot.

Earlier, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention makes mandatory for vaccinated people to wear masks in certain areas to prevent further spread of the delta variant in the United States.

U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director told CNN that in the coming weeks, the US to witness 200,000 daily covid-19 cases.
