CM Sarma emphasized that modern zoos lack the natural setting as they once did.

Digital Desk: The establishment of a new zoo in the Dibrugarh district was announced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday.

CM Sarma stated that the zoo will have trains and battery-powered vehicles when touring the Assam State Zoo Cum Botanical Garden with a group of G20 observers.

Special considerations will be given to senior citizens, he stated. There will be bamboo parks and many types of trees at the zoo.

He added that special precautions had been taken, and concern had been given to the comfort of the animals.

Additionally, he indicated that anyone may pay the cost of any animals if they so desired.

CM Sarma emphasized that modern zoos lack the natural setting as they once did.

“There are many ways to make our zoo attractive to attract tourists,” he said.

The CM tweeted, "Drove inside Assam State Zoo premises and enquired about the various ongoing works in the Zoo. Also asked authorities to give a facelift to the Zoo, while maintaining harmony with the existing flora and fauna."

Meanwhile, CM Sarma said that at least five meeting of G20 summit will be held in the state.
