Ferlin Sangma, Benedic Marak, and HM Shangpliang (all from the NPP) are the three Meghalaya legislators who have resigned from the assembly (TMC).

Digital Desk: Conrad K. Sangma, the chief minister of Meghalaya, said on Tuesday that legislators jumping ship before the election was not a problem. The statement comes a day after three MLAs resigned from the Meghalaya Assembly.

On Monday, two Meghalayan NPP legislators and one TMC lawmaker tendered their resignations from the assembly.

"It's alright. MLAs jump ship before elections, I  wish them the best and they can contest from any political party," Conrad Sangma, the NPP leader and Chief Minister of Meghalaya said.
The first half of 2023 is set aside for Meghalaya to hold elections for its legislative body.

In the first week of December, the group is expected to join the BJP in New Delhi.
