Digital Desk: The Noida police reported a horrifying incident in which four youngsters killed a friend after a party brawl and buried his body in a field. This discovery was made while looking for a missing college student.
Yash Mittal, a businessman's son and a student at a university in Noida, hasn't been seen in his hostel since Monday. When his father Deepak Mittal began receiving ransom notes demanding Rs 6 crore in exchange for his son's release, he notified the police.
Police observed Yash leave the institution on Monday while speaking on the phone after going through CCTV footage of the campus. His phone's call logs directed them to his friend Rachit. When police questioned him, they discovered that Yash often hung out with Shubham, Rachit, Shivam, and Sushant.
"They invited Yash to a party on February 26 at a field in Gajraula, Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, which is approximately 100 kilometers away. Shortly after, he joined them. There was a fight during the celebration. They killed Yash and buried the body in the field. After Rachit identified the location, we were able to retrieve the body," said senior police officer Saad Miya Khan.
The other accused was located in Dadri by the police. The accused tried to flee but after an encounter with the police, they were apprehended. "After searching the area, we have three accused people under arrest. Shubham, one more accused, is evading capture. Soon, we'll apprehend him," the officer continued.
According to the officer, the accused informed the authorities that the ransom notes were intended to mislead Yash's family. He said that several police teams had been assembled to work on the case.
After the child's body had been removed from the ground, videos from the scene showed his parents breaking down. Before his untimely demise, the young man was reportedly studying for a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the Noida institution, according to the police.
