Digital Desk: In yet another tragic incident, a non-tribal labourer lost his life in Meghalaya on Wednesday. The event unfolded in the Mavroh area of the city, where construction work was underway. Three labourers from Bihar were on site when, around 10 o'clock in the morning, a group of four or five assailants arrived and demanded to see their labour cards.

According to reports, without waiting for a response, the assailants viciously attacked the workers with iron rods. Tragically, one labourer, identified as 52-year-old Arjun Rai, succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Another labourer suffered severe injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Nigrim Hospital. The third labourer, named Raja Ram, managed to escape and later recounted the harrowing ordeal to the media.
