Digital Desk: Manipur has consistently been the outstanding region for creating remarkable talent in Indian sports. 

The coveted Arjuna Award nominations this year have once again highlighted this northeastern state, with two of its sportsmen being recognised for their extraordinary achievements in their respective sports.

Sushila Chanu (Hockey) and Roshibina Devi (Wushu), both from Manipur, have been nominated for the 2023 Arjuna Award.

In addition to Mohammed Shami (Cricket), 15 other athletes have been nominated for the prestigious award.

Meanwhile, the men's doubles badminton team's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have reportedly been chosen for the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award.

Manipur athletes have not only represented the country on the highest stages but have also been vital in India winning gold at the Olympics.

The anticipation and excitement among the people of Manipur are apparent as everyone awaits the formal announcement of the Arjuna Award recipients for 2023. 

The nomination itself is a testimonial to the athletes from this state's hard work and perseverance in striving for excellence and upholding their homeland's rich athletic tradition.
