Digital Desk: The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced new dates for the UGC-NET 2024 examination. The exam will now be re-conducted between August 21 and September 4, according to an NTA notification issued on Friday. Previously held in pen and paper mode, the UGC-NET June 2024 Cycle examination will now be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

Additionally, the Computer Based Test for NCET 2024 is scheduled for July 10, 2024, while the Joint CSIR-UGC NET exam will take place from July 25 to July 27, 2024. The All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) 2024 will be held as initially planned on July 6, 2024.

The UGC-NET 2024 exam, meant for selecting junior research fellows, assistant professors, and PhD scholars, was originally conducted by the NTA on June 18.

The test was administered at 1,205 centers across 317 cities, with over 11 lakh candidates participating. However, the exam was cancelled the following day after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan revealed that the question paper had been leaked on the darknet. The case was subsequently referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation.
