Throughout the Levant, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which started in the middle of the 20th century, is still going strong. It has been one of the world's longest-running conflicts despite multiple attempts to end it as part of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and other attempts to end the more extensive Arab-Israeli conflict.
