Digital Desk:  Amitabh Sharma, a spokesperson for Indian Railways, stated on June 3 that the rescue operations at the disastrous triple train collision scene in Odisha's Balasore had been concluded and that restoration work had got underway.


Speaking to the media, Amitabh Sharma, Executive Director, of the Information Public Railway Board, stated that 238 people have perished as a result of the horrible train tragedy, with over 600 injured. Also, rescue operations have been concluded, and restoration work on this route has commenced.


The official went on to say that over 100 persons had requested ex-gratia payments. In addition, he stated that other trains had been cancelled or diverted as a result of the event.


In the meantime, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a high-level meeting with railway officials to assess the situation on Saturday. 


According to sources, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit the train catastrophe site in Odisha's Balasore, where more than 230 people have perished and more than 600 have been injured as a result of a train derailment.
