Police believe the murder was motivated by a feud between the two over his marriage to another lady, according to Bhuyan.

Digital Desk: A 28-year-old man was detained on suspicion of murdering Jonali Nath, the BJP's Goalpara district secretary in Assam, the day after her body was discovered alongside a major highway in the district.

According to police, she was in a relationship with Hasinur Islam (28), who has been arrested in connection with her death.

According to IG Law and Order Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan, Islam was seized for questioning after over 500 calls were discovered in the previous two months, during which he confessed to murder.
