Digital Desk: A one horn rhino was allegedly killed by poachers in the world-famous Kaziranga National Park. According to reports, poachers killed the rhino and made off with its horn late last night. The one horn rhino was shot near the forest camp at Silekhunda in the national park's Kohora range. This is the first time this year that rhinos have been killed in the Kaziranga National Park. Meanwhile, the incident is being investigated by the forest department. It should be emphasised that rhino poaching has decreased dramatically in the preceding year, with only one rhino reported killed by poachers. Notably, Kevin Pietersen, the former captain of the England cricket team, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the responsible authorities for actions aimed at animal conservation in India yesterday. The former England captain also praised the work of all those who sacrifice their life to protect animals in the country, tweeting that rhino poaching is at a 21-year low.
