According to the health department official, there are now 25 dengue patients being treated in hospitals at the Diphu Medical College Hospital, showing a decline for the first time in recent days.

Digital Desk: With an increase in cases in Diphu and new reports of infections in several districts, the number of dengue cases in Assam increased to 427.

According to the Assam National Health Mission on Tuesday, the Karbi Anglong district accounted for 400 of the total cases (November 9). Additionally, it stated that between November 1 and November 7, 14 districts reported cases.

Four dengue deaths have been reported in Assam, three of them in Karbi Anglong and one in Guwahati. Last week, the state health service reported an epidemic in Diphu, the administrative centre of the Karbi Anglong district.

There has been no relief in Diphu despite all attempts to contain the virus' spread through fogging operations and the destruction of breeding grounds. According to sources from the state's health department who were cited by TOI, 59 out of the approximately 100 suspected dengue cases in Diphu on Tuesday had positive results.

According to the health department official, there are now 25 dengue patients being treated in hospitals at the Diphu Medical College Hospital, showing a decline for the first time in recent days. On Monday, hospitals hospitalized 33 people who had the dengue virus.

"More cases are being discovered as a result of the mosquito-borne dengue virus spreading among residents of the Diphu municipal regions. But now that a significant effort has been initiated for the virus' early detection and testing, the official predicted that the number of hospitalisation cases would quickly decline.
