The hurt invader was seized on the spot, rendered first aid treatment and subsequently taken to a local healthcare facility. He was even subsequently taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaypur to receive special treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The BSF confirmed the incident and stated that a formal protest will be lodged with the Pakistani Rangers over the infiltration attempt.
A BSF spokesperson said:?BSF men noticed suspicious movement where a Pakistani national was observed crossing the IB and walked towards the fence aggressively in Kathua district.
The identity of the deceased intruder is yet to be ascertained. Security forces remain on high alert along the border as investigations continue.
This attack is one more failed attempt of infiltration at the critical time when the tension on the border is high.
