The suspension comes after many disturbances and disorderly conduct in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha during the current Winter Session.

Digital Desk: The strength of the Opposition INDIA group in the Lok Sabha continued to decline on Tuesday with the suspension of 49 MPs for misbehaving and disobeying the Chair's orders. This comes the day after both Houses of Parliament suspended an unprecedented 78 Members of Parliament.

Congressmen Shashi Tharoor, Manish Tewari, and Karti Chidambaram; NCP member Supriya Sule; Samajwadi Party member Dimple Yadav; and Trinamool Congressman Sudip Bandhopadhyay are among the suspended MPs. With this, there are now 141 MPs suspended from the Parliament overall. 46 Lok Sabha opposition MPs and 46 Rajya Sabha opposition MPs were suspended on Monday.

The suspension comes after many disturbances and disorderly conduct in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha during the current Winter Session. These punitive actions, according to the administration, are required to preserve law and order and guarantee the seamless operation of parliamentary procedures.

The leaders of the opposition have sharply attacked the widespread suspensions, charging that the BJP-led government is quashing criticism and limiting free speech.
