The PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and former top selector Wahab Riaz met on Friday at the PCB headquarters in Lahore, and this decision was made as a result of their discussion.
"The current selection committee has been dissolved," a statement from the PCB spokesperson read. "Announcement of the new selection committee is imminent."
According to a statement issued by the PCB, Naqvi emphasized throughout the discussion the significance of choosing players based on merit. A thorough report on every player's performance in the just-finished Pakistan Super League was given by Riaz.
It continued, "Decisions on merit made by the new selection committee would be visible to everyone."
The PCB has promised that a new selection committee will be constituted quickly and that it will have the explicit authority to decide on its own how best to improve the performance of the national team. Players will only be selected based on merit thanks to the forthcoming committee's transparent selection procedure.
