Up until December 31, 2022, late fees (late payment premium) on unpaid water bills will be 100% waived.

Digital Desk: Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, said on Monday that water rates in the nation's capital will be entirely waived till December 31, 2022.

The CM said that the people will no longer be responsible for paying their unpaid water bills.

Kejriwal posted on Twitter, saying, "To relieve Delhi residents of their unpaid water bills, the government has made a significant move. Up until December 31, 2022, late fees (late payment premium) on unpaid water bills will be 100% waived. You don't have to worry about late fines if you pay your prior unpaid debts ".

The Delhi CM has also given his approval to a project that would clean up the Keshopur and Najafgarh sewers and deposit them into the Najafgarh drain in order to make the Yamuna pollution-free.

"Today, a highly significant project that would clean up the Yamuna was approved. According to this, daily cleanings of the 85 MGD sewers that drain into Keshopur and Najafgarh will be disposed of in the Najafgarh drain. This will result in a 30% reduction in Yamuna water pollution. Cleaning the Yamuna will be made much easier by taking this action "Kejriwal tweeted.

In a series of tweets, he claimed that in order to clean up the Yamuna, sewage pumping stations would be constructed on the Badli, Nigam Bodh, and Mori Gate drains.

"To clean the water of Yamuna, three more important projects have been approved today - a total of 55 MGD sewage pumping stations will be built on Badli, Nigam Bodh and Mori Gate drain. With this, the dirty water of these drains will not go into the Yamuna", Kejriwal tweeted.
