Rome: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Italy’s capital Rome on Friday. He will be attending the 16th G20 Leader’s Summit scheduled to take place from 30 to 31 October. He was officially invited for the same by the Italian Prime Minister Mario Darghi.

After landing in the capital city PM Modi was warmly greeted by the officials from the Government of Italy and Neena Malhotra, who is the Ambassador of India in Italy.

The G20 summit is an international forum of economic partnership and cooperation that brings some major countries of the world together. It consists of 19 countries and the European Union.  It is used to address some major issues related to global economy, climate change, sustainable development, etc.

During his visit PM Modi is likely to hold crucial bilateral meetings with multiple world leaders. He is set to discuss multiple issues on national and international significance. He is also likely to interact with the Pope Francis at the Vetican.

 “Landed in Rome to take part in the @g20org Summit, an important forum to deliberate on key global issues. I also look forward to other programmes through this visit to Rome,” PM Modi Tweeted after landing in Italy.

Following the G20 Summit, PM Modi is also set to visit United Kingdom on November 1 at the invitation of Prime Minister of UK Boris Johnson.
