Digital Desk: After a massive six-kilometer roadshow the night before, Prime Minister Narendra Modi filed his nomination for the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday morning after a massive six-kilometer roadshow held the previous evening. Many high-ranking officials from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its coalition partners accompanied him.
PM Modi visited the renowned Dashashwamedh Ghat on the Ganges banks this morning on his way to file his paperwork, where he offered prayers. On this visit, he was accompanied by Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and they went to the Kaal Bhairav Temple later.
Ahead of his temple visit, the PM said on X, "My relationship with my Kashi is amazing, inseparable, and incomparable. All I can say is it cannot be expressed in words!”
Overwhelmed with emotion, PM Modi stated, "I didn't even realize how 10 years passed under the shade of your affection. Aaj Maa Ganga ne mujhe god le liya hai [today, Maa Ganga has adopted me]."
After submitting his nomination papers, the prime minister is expected to address his supporters.
Reflecting on Monday evening roadshow, PM Modi stated, "The love and blessings my family members of Kashi showed during the road show became an unforgettable moment in my life."
Except for RK Mishra from the Congress, who defeated the BJP in 2004, PM Modi is vying for a third term in a row from this BJP stronghold, which the party has held eight times since 1991.
On June 1, Varanasi will cast votes in the election's seventh and final phase. PM Modi won the 2019 election with a wide margin of almost 480,000 votes, which is a considerable rise from his winning margin of 372,000 lakh votes five years prior.
