Digital Desk: Poachers have reportedly killed an elephant in the Raimona National Park in Assam. The national park's Kachugaon division is where the carcass of the elephant was found. 

Forest rangers and locals reached the spot at the San Pan Range where the dead elephant was found with missing tusks.
 
Authorities suspect that it is the handiwork of poachers as the tusks are missing. Meanwhile, a search and rescue effort has been initiated in the region to locate the poachers. 

The jumbo's body was buried in the forest after necessary medical inspections.
