Digital Desk: A Waggon R vehicle that was involved in an accident on Monday in Silchar, Assam, while carrying a sizable quantity of Burmese supari, led a police raid.

Sources claim that in Silchar's Ram Nagar neighbourhood, two vehicles with the registration numbers AS-01-BX-4309 and AS-11-F-4252 collided head-on.

Two young people who were involved in the crash suffered significant injuries and needed emergency medical care.

Initiating inquiries into the occurrence and determining the kind and size of the supari shipment, the authorities responded quickly and arrived at the site.

Investigations are currently being conducted to learn more information about the accident, the participants, and the related legal measures.

It may be mentioned that on May 19, the Cachar Police arrested two vehicles from Lailapur near the Assam-Mizoram border that were loaded with illegal Burmese supari and weighed about 3000 kgs.

Sources said that the cops did a naka checking at the Lailapur Patrol Post before seizing the two lorries. The two trucks were moving the illicit goods from Mizoram to Cachar in Assam.
