Digital Desk: In a major crackdown against counterfeit gold trade, Gauripur police arrested a man in the Targhat area for possession of fake gold.


Following a tip-off, a team led by the Officer-in-Charge of Gauripur Police Station conducted a swift operation. The suspect was apprehended in Targhat while allegedly attempting to sell fake gold.


Police seized two fake gold pieces weighing 750 grams from the man. Additionally, a motorcycle and two mobile phones were seized during the operation.


The accused has been identified as Munnaf Ali, a resident of South Geramari village.


Police have brought the individual to the Gauripur Police Station for further questioning. Authorities believe he is part of a larger fake gold racket and expect additional arrests in the case.


An investigation is underway to identify all people involved in the incident.
