The recovered body was reportedly identified as the 16-year-old daughter of Angadh Singh, a resident of Chunpura village under Bakaliaghat police station of Karbi Anglong.

Digital Desk: Assam Police on Friday recovered the body minor girl, who had been missing for days, from a sugarcane field in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.

The recovered body was reportedly identified as the 16-year-old daughter of Angadh Singh, a resident of Chunpura village under Bakaliaghat police station of Karbi Anglong.

It was further reported that the minor girl has been missing since September 13.

It is to be noted that the headman of the village Chunpura informed police that the girl had gone missing on September 13 and he suspected that she may be killed by her father.

"When he went to mow the lawn there, a local kid discovered a pit in the sugarcane field. We discovered a body when we first dug the pit. The post-mortem report will help determine the facts. The father of the victim girl is the suspected offender, and he has fled," according to officer-in-charge Nabajit Das of the Bakaliaghat police station.
